XP Missing Audio Control

Upon startup I am receiveing a message:
c:\windows\system32\audiocntl.exe cannot be found. Is
there any way this file can be restored to its proper
place within my system or, if this is not a valuable
file, can it be disabled or deleted?

Thank you.
 
Go to Start>Run type: msconfig select Startup look in right pane
and see if that shows up. If yes, uncheck it.
