XP Microphone boost missing

We've recently installed a BT headset on our laptop in the home. While we had
no real problems with the wired microphones used before (and it has been
used.... extensively), the BT thing barely picks up normal spoken volume...
Let me refrase that, I picks it up fine but the playbake is very, very, very
quite. I've used the Conrol Panel> Sounds and Audio Device Properties> Voice
(Tab)> Voice Recording -- Test hardware Utils. I've maxed the values for the
mic in the Volue Control for both recording and playback. The only thing I
cant find (that I do have on the other two machines at home) is the
"Advanced" tab under the mic in the recording contols. That little thing
would let me make use of the built-in microphone boost option..... but why
cant I locate it. Any help w/ that or another work-around out there?

Try R.clicking the speaker by the clock,select,open volume control,options,
properties,select "record" from "playback" position its now in,chk the mic
box
& adjust volume...Also,what are you recording to with software,try windows
encoder 9 series,select "capture audio/video"...If all else fails,go to
run,type:
DXDIAG Run the Direct X audio utilities...

Also look for a box marked "AGC, and check that--big difference here.
