Hi,
I have a new Dell 4600, XP w/SP1 at a ATI all-in-wonder
card (9000 series I believe). This machine blue-screens
constantly if I run Media Center and watch live TV, it'll
crash within 15-30 minutes. If I use Microsoft Movie
maker and capture video from a camcorder, that too will
blue-screen it.
Searching the KB, I article 827663 which mentions one of
the many blue-screen messages I've jotted down
("kernal_mode_exception_not_handled") and it referred toa
update for win32k.sys dated 8/28/03 version
5.1.2600.1265. But my copy is even newer than that --
mine is 9/25/03 version 5.1.2600.1275.
Anybody have any clues on what may be the cause? Ideas
to troubleshoot? I'm guessing the ATI card may be a
probelm, or XP-media center has a bug, but need help
diagnosing further.
Any help appreciated --
Dave
