XP Magnifier-NoCurser@1x & NoZoom

C:\WINDOWS\system32\magnify.exe displays the curser at every
magnification except 1x. Also
http://www.pcworld.com/howto/article/0,aid,115065,00.asp &
Windows HELP says "pressing Windows-Up Arrow will increase
the zoom level, and pressing Windows-Down Arrow will
decrease it" but that doesnt work 4 me either.

I hope I can determine:
1- If my EXE is bad (does it act this way on other PCs?)
2- Where I can reinstall a good EXE from. I didnt see it
in ADD/REMOVE PGMS.
3- A cheap (<$15) alternate. I've tried 3 already
(Aldo's,Ultra, ATIs Hydro,& The Magnifier) but none have the
capabilities of Win Magnify if the 2 problems above are
solved.

The cursor does not appear in the upper window at 1X magnification for
me either, so I would presume this is normal behavior.

Thx Bob 4 verifying it's not just my PC. Cant think of why
MS would delete it from 1X screen - hard to know where u r
with no curser!!

There is a built in magnify due to different screen
resolutions when using 2 monitors- its 1.5 in my case with
19" mon & 27" TV. So 2X is actually 3X & 1x is 1.5X.
Magnify works on pixels not area. So if u increase
resolution on Mon1 things get smaller on it but image on
Mon2 is same size. Took me a few hrs to figure out why!!
