XP machine wants to install SP2 all the time...

One of our users has an XP Pro SP1 machine at home that he users to connect
to us remotely with.

He downloaded and attempted to install the SP2 patch. For whatever reason,
the install got part way through and could not continue.

Now, every time he logs onto the machine, he is being asked to reinstall the
patch - since it had already been downloaded.

How can he prevent that from coming up each time he logs on?
