XP locked up

I posted earlier but the email account doesn't work.
My notebook is locked up saying it's preparing to
hibernate. I can't turn it off; it just stays on. I've
tried closing the lid, hitting the on/off button,
ALT/CTR/DEL, but it's still on and completely locked up.
Any advice?

That's a common problem with notebooks. I think we've all experienced it.
Leave it unplugged and remove the battery for 5 minutes. After that you
should be ok.
