I have noticed today that my Cerificate of Authenticity (that sticker thing)
Has on it Windows XP Professional 1-2CPU. What does it mean by 1-2 CPU

1-2 CPU = 1-2 Processors. Windows XP Professional supports
1 or 2 processors.

The CPU (Central Processing Unit) is a chip on the motherboard
inside your computer. It's the "brains," so to speak, of the
computer.

Windows XP Professional supports a computer with either one or
two CPU chips, as opposed to XP Home, which supports only one.

This does *not* mean that you can install it two computers, as
some people mistakenly interpret it.

That means that you can use that particular version of
windows on 1 computer with either 1 or 2 CPUs, and to the
best of my knowledge is the only flavor of XP Pro there is.
XP Home can be installed on a 2 cpu machine, but it would
only use 1

You can use this version of XP Pro on computers that have upto 2 physical
processor chips installed. Hyper-threaded prococessors do not count.
