1-2 CPU means just that, you can use XP on a machine that runs either 1 or
2 CPUs.

It means that if you have a dual processor motherboard with up to 2
processors installed on it you are licensed to use this copy of Windows XP
on it.
It does not mean you can install it on 1 or 2 PCs.

chips installed, as well as ones with only one
