I have a very strange problem and haven't found any bug reports that would
explain it.

I want to save a shortcut to do a search of my favorites folder so I can
find bookmarks easily.

I have done the following:

a. Open the Find window in any of the usual ways, and choose the desired
find location.

b. Choose Save Search from the File menu. This will put a .fnd file on the
desktop.

c. Store the .fnd file someplace safe, such as your Windows directory, and
create a shortcut to it on the desktop (drag the file onto the desktop with
the right mouse button, and choose Create Shortcut).

d. Rename the shortcut to something more informative, such as "Find
bookmarks"

However, when I open my .fnd file, the "look in" folder (location) has not
been saved. In my case, the search I saved was for G:\Favorites and I see
"Local Hard Drives (C:;F:;G:)" instead.

I used to have this working on other machines. Anyone have any clues? I'm
running XP Pro, Svc pk. 1

TIA,

Hi Michael,

At one time this worked, can't remember the exact combo myself, but it
surely doesn't anymore. Good luck!
