I am doing a new build with a Geforce 7050M-M2 board with a Phenom X4 9550
Processor. New ram and HD. After files are loaded and the reboot it goes
past the splash screen to the black screen and stops. Can someone please
help me figure this one out?
Thanks

Hi JCW,

How much physical Ram is installed? What version of XP are you running?
Ex. Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Service Pack 2.

What is your Internal Hard Drive? IDE or SATA? If SATA open up the
computer and reverse the SATA Cable connecting the Hard Drive to the
motherboard. If IDE, open up the computer and reseat the Cables. Check the
memory slots for any pinched wires.

Hello creator,
I am using Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Service Pack 2. I put in a
new 1 gig stick of ram. Everything is new except the case and power supply.
It makes it past the loading of files and the Windows splash screen the goes
black.

Hi JCW,

I installed Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 on a partitioned 500
GB Hard Drive, without the need to load special Drivers, if plugged directly
into the Motherboard.

When you install your operating system, you must disconnect all external
devices, save for your Mouse and Keyboard. If your Keyboard or Mouse is
plugged into USB Ports, the Legacy Support for these devices must be turned
on in your Computer BIOS.

Are your Keyboard and Mouse plugged into the PS/2 Connectors or USB
Ports?

Hello,
I don't know exactly what I did to remedy the problem, but reseating cables
and checking for pinched ones etc., seemed to do the trick. all is well and
I appreciate the help...
