Computer Reboots Before Loading XP

Hey

My computer recently stopped booting. I reistalled XP, and now right
before the windows splash screen comes up it simply reboots. It will
boot into safemod just fine. Chkdsk will not help me because it runs
after Windos loads. Any suggestions?

Tried overwriting kernel32.dll, that didn't help. The problem is
before the splash screen that says "Windows XP" with the blue bar at
the bottom, it reboots right before it's supposed to show that.
