Don S.

Hi all,
I purchased XP last weekend to upgrade my Win98 se.
When I attempted to load it, it told me I had to uninstall
my GoBack software. When I did that it began...After doing
this I restarted my computer and both of my CD drives
wouldn't work and my sound was inoperable. I am unable now
to reload my Norton's, my Win98 disk and anything dealing
with my CDs. When I put in a CD, it does a self start then
goes to a Windows blue screen error. I was told to go to
Start, Run and type in SFC, when I did this, the Comp gave
an error that said it was not a Win32 application.
My frustration level is rising everytime I try to work on
it. What should have been a simple Win upgrade is turning
into a nightmare.
Any help would be appreciated,
Don S

Personally, i would load the win98 boot disk, reformat,
then do a clean install of xp. Unfortunately, you lose all
data on the hard drive. Hopefully someone with more
experience can give you better advice.
