Recently i bought an Advent laptop but it was in Vista and nothing i had was
compatible with it, including most things i tried to download and it became a
total nightmare, so i got some advice and removed Vista and installed XP,
only problem is that i am now missing my Audio Drivers, my Ethernet Drivers
and my Video Controller (VGA Compatible), i have been told that if i can find
the make and model number of my motherboard then i can go to that website for
my drivers, but as i have a laptop and cannot see my motherboard how else
would i find out this information?

On the bottom of your laptop you will find model number of the laptop.
Moreover you can contact the vendor from where you purchased the laptop. Once
you have the laptop model number, you can go on the manufacturers website and
download a full driver set base don the model number.

If your version of vist was 64 bit, try the 32 bit version and you
should have few problems unless your apps are very OLD.

Many of the newer systems don't include XP drivers, only vista, so
you're stuck of you buy before you visit the vendors website and check
for drivers.

Vista 32 bit is like a slower XP SP3 version.

Contact the laptop's manufacturer to find out about drivers.

But be aware that with many laptops that come with Vista, drivers for
XP are *not* available. It may have been a very poor move to replace
Vista with XP, if you didn't check on the drivers first.
