xp install missing file

While installing XP when computer got to point of restart
error came up and said re-install file (windows root)
system32\hal.dll. how do you do this on a new install?

Don, there's something about your system that Winxp doesnt like. Hal, is
short for Hardware Abstraction Layer.

you don't find a solution at Kellys site, then
I would start over with all the peripherals removed from your system
Just cpu, ram, vid card and monitor.
