XP Incoming Faxes

I have a dedicated xp system set up for incoming faxes. Normally it recieves
the faxes fine, but sometimes i recieves multiple faxes and saves them as one
..tif document. Any Ideas why?

None, this is not a common issue. Note that XP Fax was never designed for
this, it is not a robust application, and allowances must be made for it's
shortcomings. I have a similar arrangement, a dedicated XPSP2 Fax receiver
attached to our newsroom automation system. It fails on 20-30% of the
incoming faxes. I don't like it, but I accept it. At some point, I hope to
obtain a MainPine Fax board to see if it helps the situation any; they
(MainPine) believe it will. I certainly hope it does because I've no choice
in which Fax application I use, I *must* use XP Fax for this and, again, it
is not designed for this service.

Thanks for the response. When you say it fails 20 - 30% of the time, are the
failures in the form of faxes that are not being recieved?

The errors are Fax receive errors and there's no rhyme or reason to it
because most of these faxes are sent from real Fax machines, not computers
with Fax modems.
