I want to setup a web server from my home and of course,
the XP Home Edition does not support PWS. Can I upgrade
from the home edition to the XP professional edition, Or
will drive need to be formatted and I will have do buy the
full install version?

thanks

The upgrade version of Pro will work fine, no need to format. Insert the Pro
CD and follow prompts.

You can do a format and clean install with the XP Pro Upgrade version. You
will need to briefly insert your XP Home disk during installation as proof
of ownership of a qualifying version of Windows.

Thanks Steve!

Yes - you run the Pro Upgrade CD from the Home system, take Install and
continue with the upgrade. Although the box does not mention Home as
one of the things it upgrades, it does the job.

First take a look at other possibilities - eg Apache from www.apache.org
as your server
