Upgrading to XP professional

I have a new Laptop with XP Home Edition. I just bought XP Professional (full
edition, not the upgrade version). I don't want to do a fresh install of the
Professional. Can I use the full version (not upgrade version) of XP
Professional to upgrade from the XP Home Edition? Thanks

Yes. But be sure that what you bought is really the Full Retail
version, not an OEM version (which many people confuse with the
Full version). Although the Full version can do an upgrade, the
OEM version can not.

Yes you can - it will do an upgrade too (provided it is not one of the
OEM ones). First be sure that you *need* one or more of the Pro only
facilities - with a Laptop this might be a need to join an NT Domain
network at the Office, but not much else
