XP Home to XP Pro

I upgraded my XP Home (activated) to an XP Pro. When I
tried to activate the XP Pro, it reported that the
installation exceeded the number of allowed installations.
Question: When the activation period expires, what's
going to happen? Will my computer self-destruct? Will I
get sued my MS? or will it automatically revert back to
the XP Home Edition?

.
When the activation period expires your system will stop
working,Just like a trial period with shareware
programs,You might want to take care of this before
then.

Choose the option to activate by telephone. It only takes a few
minutes.

Good luck

The product key to install Pro is different from the Home one, and if
you got a new copy of Pro and used the key that came with it, should not
result in that message. But if you were trying to use a copy that is
in use elsewhere the activation will not be allowed - and after 30 days
the machine will only boot to Safe mode. So where did you get the Pro
upgrade?
