Hello, here is a minor puzzle:

I am engaged supporting a network consisting of 20 XP home clients in a
workgroup...laughably the name of the workgroup is "Domain". Users access
files and folders on a Win2k pro system. they call it their "Server". This
workgroup has been unmanaged for quite some time and is a bit of a mess.

There is a Domain at the location as well. It consists of of a single DC
running Win 2003 Server Standard and is configured as a DC. AD is running and
so is DNS. There are a handful of clients running XP Pro.

Here is my mission - I need to decide whether to upgrade or install XP pro
on all of the workgroup clients. The users will have new Domain accounts, but
it would be nice if I could export their profiles to their new domain
accounts. The hardware within the org is all compliant w/ XP Pro.

Any suggestions to make this process as smooth as possible would be
appreciated.

Thx,

Stone

The Windows XP Files and Settings Transfer Wizard will save settings and
documents of your choice from one profile and allow them to be imported into
another.
