The PC loads windows to log-in screen, after about 30
seconds reboots. This will continue endlessly. Was able
to get to safe mode, did virus scan. Nothing detected.
Any suggestions about why windows does this and how to
fix?

This sounds like a virus, you should download and install
the latest version of AVG from WWW.grisoft.com.

If you are able to log on to your system and then you get
the RPC shutdown window do the following.
click on start -> run and type "shutdown -a"

1. download AVG
2. dowload zone alarm from www.zonlabs.com
3. go to www.windowsupdate.com and download the latest
updates for your version of the os.

If you are not getting the RPC Shutdown window do the
following.

Find out the type, version and model number on your mother
and update the BIOS.
