XP SP3 keeps rebooting. Need help

My pc is in the vicious cycle of rebooting before windows starts up and does
not even start in safe mode. I disabled the reboot on error from the safe
boot menu and was able to get the blue screen error for diagnosing. Here is
the error:
"Unmountable boot volume Stop OxOOOOOOED (Ox86384C68, OxC0000006,
OxOOOOOOOO, OxOOOOOOOO) "

Could anyone give me some troubleshooting assistance? I think I started
having doing a full virus scan with NIS 09 when this occured. Look forward
to your replies.

0x000000ED: UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME
The kernel mode I/O subsystem attempted to mount the boot volume and it
failed. This error also might occur during an upgrade to Win XP on systems
that use higher throughput ATA disks or controllers with incorrect cabling.
In some cases, your system might appear to work normally after you restart.

[They're all zeroes, not letter O's: 0x000000ED (0x86384C68, 0xC0000006,
0x00000000, 0x00000000)]

Did this happen after you'd installed WinXP SP3? Was NIS 2009 fully
disabled before you installed WinXP SP3? Have you recently upgraded to NIS
2009?

To disable the reboot loop: Start | Settings | Control Panel | System |
Advanced (tab) | Startup and Recovery | Settings (button) | System Failure |
Automatically restart <=uncheck | OK your way out & reboot.

I already had XP3 on there for a while and it didn't cause this stop error.
Also, NIS 09 was on there for a little while and I was running a full scan
when i think this happened as i stepped away from the computer. Any advice
to get this pc back up and going?

what you can try is
to boot up with a
windows installation
cd and access the
repair/recovery console.

then you can run the
following commands at
the disk prompt>:

chkdsk /r
fixboot
bootcfg /rebuild
fixmbr

then exit and try to
boot again w/o the
cd.
