xp home over the top of xp pro ?

thanks for any advice

clean install of XP pro as a test on a machine for sale,
installed all drivers etc to test working.

OEM XP disks have now arrived, is it possible install XP
home over the top of XP pro ? and retain all drivers etc
installed as test.

OR is it better to do a clean install and start from scratch
?
