Hi all,

A friend of mine installed NIS 2005 (nortons internet security) on her
windows xp home pc and after trying to enable the firewall from what i
understand, the pc locked up and crashed.

Cosequently after every reboot, a blue screen of death appears for a
fraction of a second before rebooting again.
Even in safe mode it reboots due to the bsod =/

Is there a way i can recovered the OS by dipping into the hdd and swaping
and changing things around while browsing the hdd content on another system.

or r my resign to backup wot i can and do a clean re-install ut this time
buying xp pro, as i was never able to find the xp home cd that came with the
hp machine purchase from pcworld =/

any advice on this is greatly appreciated, thx yall.

Hi Leon,

If the system has SP2 installed, hit F8 as the system first begins to load
to access the boot menu. From the boot menu, choose the option to disable
the automatic restart on system failure. See if this helps get past the blue
screen.
