XP Home LockUPS, only after a Cold boot.

Its not that consistent and only seems to happened after a Cold boot, some
2-10 mins after the desktop appears.

After a reset the lockups don't comes back.

Never use to have his problem before, and it has on 2 accessions lockup
on the User log on screen.

Recently did a XP repair but that did not help..

I am not running and background tasks only the Kerio firewall..

My feeling is that its one of the MS Updates that is causing it, have tried
backing out drivers with no such luck.

Intel system 512m ram, Gigabyte 8Iexp 2 MoBo.

Thanks

This may be your power supply failing or being inadequate to handle the
devices attached (like if you just added an external hard drive, new
cd-rw burner, etc.). Or you may have flaky RAM or a failing hard drive.
Do some hardware diagnosis.

Well, since I'm not at your house troubleshooting your computer, I can't
say for sure. But hardware being new is no guarantee it isn't bad. In
fact, if hardware is going to fail, it will usually do so fairly
quickly or then chug along happily for years. I'd still lean toward a
hardware issue - perhaps even a faulty power supply. I'm sorry, but I
can't give you a definite answer from Usenet posts! My previous advice
stands - do hardware diagnoses and if you can't, take the machine in
somewhere.

Well the PSU has a 3 Year warrantee so how do I define a fault with it so
that it can be replaced, no that is not possible.

The ONLY was to test Hardware is to replace it, and that costs MONEY and does
not sort out the Warrantee does it..?

Plus I am a fully Trained Main Frame Eng, so why sould I take it to a shop.?
