XP Home - freezing and automatically rebooting

B

Bren

Hi, my PC has been experiencing problems of either
freezing (sometimes even before I've selected the user)
or about 15/20 seconds after getting to my desktop.
Sometimes, my machine just automatically reboots.

One time I actually got a blue screen of death message so
here it is.

STOP: 0x000000D1
(0x00000004,0x00000002,0x00000000,0xF71B300B)

USBPORT.SYS - Address F71B300B base at F71AD000

I have just been into the CMOS and disabled the USB port
and it now seems fine but I want to use my USB in the
future.

Anyone got any ideas.

P.S. I have broadband, I have the XP firewall enabled, I
have Norton Firewall and Norton Antivirus all up to date
and enabled.

It has nothing whatsoever to do with spyware or a virus - update the USB
chipset driver.
