Restart and shut down don't work !!!

After cleaning bunch of viruses, spywares, trojans, backdoors etc. i
noticed that shut down and Restart functions don't work.

Laptop freezes at shut down and restart processes.

OS: XP SP2

I have cleaned OS with several antivirus utilities but that pulled some
system files with it.

I did sfc /scannow but it didn't brought back this functions.

Reinstallation isn't a solution. AVAST and Windows firewall are my main
antivirus shielding.

When i come into windows and automatically connect to wirelles internet
the Windows firewall is down and i have to turn it manually on. In
exceptions there are some as i suppose junk files turned on called
"ENABLE" and there are 6 of them with same names. I deleted them again
and again but always the same thing.

Please need for experienced assistance!

Reinstallation IS a solution. Might even be the only one.

Laws of Physics don't enter the equation here. Just laws of "Monkey
see, Monkey Do" in re-installing Windows. If by chance you have NO
Windows OS disk, you just toddle off to your local MS Windows shop &
purchase one afore-mentioned CD/DVD whatever.
Why "no can Beee", "No beee"? Oh, No! Don't tell me! You, TOO
superglued your CD-ROM tray shut?????

You may not have eliminated all malware.

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
1.38 -freeware (if you upgrade you pay).

Run Malwarebytes' and turn off your current anti-virus
before you do to avoid a conflict. Disregard the invitation on the web
site regarding the Registry Optimiser -a Registry Optimiser is not a
helpful utility.

This site is not totally up to date but it is worth a look

Is your system free from error?

Have a look in the System and Application logs in Event Viewer for
Errors and Warnings and post copies here. Don't post any more than 48
hours ago.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

Hope this helps.
