xp home encryption

my disc is formated ntfs. i wanted to encrypt some personal finance
files(folder) but the place in the properties box for " checking" to encrypt
is grayed out and will not allow.

EFS isn't available in XP Home Edition.

I suggest a third-party encryption methodology.

care to suggest (hopefully) free 3rd party encryption? thanks again
