Encrypted Folders...?

Hi,

I have winxp sp2 with NTFS on all my drive's volumes. [Microsoft Windows XP
[Version 5.1.2600] I used my Administrator accout to make read only and
Encrypt a folder containing sub folders with different files in them. I made
read only and Encrypted Super folder or outer most folder of that folder
tree. But when I after some days reversed that thing I mean I made root
folder of that folder tree [ Read only - Off] [Encryption - Off] . But it
does not work I mean files in sub folders are not opening, they are just
locked.

I want to know how can I reset the settings on my read only and Encrypted
folders to normal so that everyone can access those files.

Plz help me in this regard.

See now, this is the reason you shouldn't play with encryption.

What State secrets are you protecting on your home computer? The
typical home user has absolutely ZERO need to use encryption. There
are easier ways to protect data that are much easier to recover from
when they system crashes.

UNcheck "encrypt". Apply to subfolders.

I believe you need "Write" rights on the directory to Encrypt or Decrypte
files. Add "Write" rights and give it a try.
