XP Home Edition & MSN Messenger

My friend has been using WindowsXP Home Edition for a few months now and has
installed the lastest version of MSN messenger BUT what seems to be happening
is when they turn on thier pc and go online (shared cable connection/router
that loads at startup) MSN starts without them knowing it. They have gone
thru MSN, Outlook Express, Windows, and IE options and made sure ANY
messenger options are unchecked (off) and yet it's still doing it.
What can they do to stop it from running until they want to run it???
They have gotten to the point that they uninstalled MSN and I dont blame them.
Microsoft needs to keep its products from embedding into each other unless
thats what a user wants, and worse off is not knowing that programs like MSN
are digging in and embedding themselves into the system.
I have my own issues with MSN and Hotmail and would like to know where i can
post that if anyone knows.....
Thank You in advance for your help, Jim

It's not imbedded. Check your MSN settings more thoroughly,
Open MSN, Options/General/ uncheck "Automatically run Messenger when I log
onto Windows"
