xp home edition licencing

Hi, I recently purchased a laptop with xp home oem pre-installed. Then I went to another shop and bought an xp pro upgrade. The shop assistant gave me a xp pro booklet with the cd, printed on the booklet was "for distribution only with a new PC". I went home and installed xp pro on my laptop, is the xp pro in my laptop legally licenced? If not how do I make it legal?

Hi,

Don't sweat the booklet, it was probably just one of many they had lying
around. They all contain basically the same limited information. What's
important is that they sold you the right CD, and it sounds like they did.
An OEM CD (one that comes with a piece of hardware or a new machine) would
not have done the upgrade. They had to have sold you a retail Upgrade or
Full version.

This may help you confirm things:

The invisible helicopters will circling over your house tonight!

As long as you have it working on your computer, don't sweat it. What the
hell is MS gonna do about it, if they think it isn't legal, sue you?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
