XP Home edition joining a Windows 2000 server domain?

Hi,
I've just bought a laptop loaded with XP Home.

I've got a small network in my home that has 3 Win2k Pro workstations and 1
Win2k Server. The Server is a Primary Domain Controller.

XP Home only seems to want to be part of a "workgroup". I need it to join my
existing DOMAIN.
Is this possible with XP Home?
Thanks,
Bill

Bill,

You can't join an XP Home computer to a domain. You'll have to setup a local
account on the server.

....small correction: you can't set up local accounts on a domain controller.

No - although you can access resources from across the network to the domain
controller, XP Home can't join a domain. I'd suggest upgrading to XP Pro -
it's really worth it if you want the full functionality provided by a
domain...

DOHH. In which case, Bill is out of luck. :(

Not really - if the user has a domain account, he/she can access domain
resources

net use x: \\server\share /user:domain\username <enter>

And enter the password when prompted. Still, I do think it's a lot better to
just get XP Pro & join the domain!
