XP Home edition and Domain

A simple question: can xp home edition be part of domain network (network
with server)? If so, does that apply for Win 9x computers too?

I know it can be used as workgroup but not sure if it can be used as domain
(part of domain).

Yes.

You can *connect* to domain resources without belonging to the domain - but
you cannot join the domain using Home or Media Center Edition or Win9x. In
the interest of central administration, security, and so forth, I suggest
that you use only operating systems that can fully participate in the
domain.

Windows XP Home cannot join a domain, as Lanwench explained.

Here is a link to a patch that purports to give that functionality to
XP Home. Please note that I have not tried this myself.
