XP Home doesn't see Canon Powershot A 510 or SD card reader

I tried several USB ports of the computer. Neither does it see Canon
digital Camera nor the SD card reader. The sane SD card can be seen in
another XP computer through the same card reader. When plugged back to
the camera, the camera shows the pics too. I can provide other details
that might be pertinent to the troubleshooting.

Can anyone please help?

Anything else using the USB ports on that computer?
Everything look okay in Device Manager?
Tried removing the USB devices in Device Manager and rebooting - allowing
them to reinstall?
 
Shenan, Thank you for your attention to my question.

The Device Manager Looks ok. (Evrything is showing as installed.) I
uninstalled all the USB drives and rebooted. The card reader can still
not be read.

Prior to that, I read somewhere about Real Player 10 causing this
problem, so I uninstalled that, no change.

Is there any other procedure I need to follow for a possible solution?
