I am building a new AMD64 box for a Debian Server and would like to
install Vista Home premium 64 as well ( as a dual boot system )

- Can I install Vista on any partion of my choosing, other than the master
primary drive's 1 st partition.

- Can I run software that is running on an XP system with Vista ( Palm and
AR8200 programs in particular )

Your help will be appreciated. Thanks, Bob

Do you mean run programs from an XP installation (partition maybe) on
Windows Vista without it being installed? Possibly, but you are basically
asking for trouble, its recommended you reinstall those applications on
Vista. Most 32 bit applications should run just fine on Windows Vista, check
the software developers web site for updates and information about
compatibility with Windows Vista.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I did not explain myself properly, I meant
that I am NOW running programs on an XP partition. I'm not planning on
running XP, I figured I'd be asking for problems. I use Windows for only a
few things. and haven't used Windows for my primary systems for 7 or 8
years so I'm getting into unknown territory.
I will peruse the links. Thanks, Bob
