XP HOME and Passwords?

Is is possible, with XP HOME to share MY home folder ( c:\documents and
settings\daniel\documents) with other computers on the network, BUT require
my password and credentials to connect to it?

At the moment, I have several computers connecting regularly to the shared
documents folder on this computer. That's great when the files that I want to
share are not sensitive, eg. family pictures.

But there are certain files that I do not wish for everyone connecting to
have access to.

At the moment (although running multiple PCs) I am able to drop files onto
and drag files off my Apple Mac. not a problem

(just mapping as a drive, \\IPAddress\MyAccountName)

When mapping that as a network drive it then requests me for my credentials.
This is what I would like to be able to do with my home folder.

Is there a way that I can do this in XP Home? And if not, how would/could I
go about doing this on XP Pro. ( Although I have Pro, it's not on the PC that
I intend to access files from)

TIA,

DAN

XP Home does not permit the sharing of users' home directories (My
Documents) although you can share subdirectories.

XP does not use passwords to protect resources; it uses permissions. The
fine-grained user permissions you want are available in Pro, not Home.
However, you could zip the folders and apply a password to them, only
giving the password to those whom you wish to be able to have access.

Otherwise, Google for third-party software to do password protection of
folders.
