XP Home and a Domain

Home will never connect to a domain. Microsoft never placed the "feature"
into Home. You will need to use XP Pro, if you need to access a domain.

You upgrade it to Windows XP Professional :)

XP Home is not designed to participate in a Domain environment.

XP home cannot join a domain, but it can use domain resources without
joining.

Although Windows XP Home cannot join a domain, it is still possible to
access domain resources without the need to specify a username and password
every time. To do this, setup a domain user account on the server with a
non-expiring password. Next, create a local user account on the XP Home
machine with the same username and password as the domain account. Now, the
XP Home machine will have access to the same resources given to the domain
user account.

Greetings --

You don't. (Or you do so by upgrading to WinXP Pro.) WinXP Home
is not designed to, nor can it truly be made to, join a domain.

However, domain resources can be manually accessed by properly
authenticated users on WinXP Home machines
