XP home activation problem

Hi everyone.

My computer is suddenly having a problem with product activation. I
recently had
a virus, it apparently monekyed around with a file named winlogon.exe.
Windows would not boot--just after the Windows desktop would appear,
the system would reboot. So I replaced winlogon.exe using a known good
copy. Now Windows will boot, but it says it needs to be activated. So
I say yes--I have a valid key. Then I get the message "Windows has
already been activated. Pree OK to continue".

When I press OK, I get put back to the logon screen. So I'm in this
neverending loop. I could resintall of course but I really don't want
to. Is their some kind of repair I can run?

Try repairing the registry entries for the .DLL files used by
activation.

Use Start- Run and enter the following text in the dialog box:
regsvr32.exe regwizc.dll

Then do it again with the following text:
regsvr32.exe licdll.dll

Good luck
