xp hangs at user name

Just installed new XP on new hard drive on new motherboard. Installation
completed (after three tries) and XP boots to screen asking me to click my
user name, but no user nameis listed. Clicking on the blank area does
nothing, nor does Enter.
Any ideas on how to get XP to load? Should I do Setup again (from CD)?
