XP Freezes

Hello,
OS seems to load fine, till it gets to the Welcome
Screen. Then it freezes. I have to restart it, till it
finally completes the bootup. I have run error check,
shows no problems. Run System Restore, still stalls at
the Welcome screen. Any help appreciated.

AMD XP 2000+
512MB DDR memory
WinXP Pro
