Xp freezes during installation

OMG my Xp will not install. it gets to this kernal dll
file and just freezes. This does not make sense. The
computer is a 2.8 ghz p4 ht tech. This should not be
happening. Some one please help. It will not let me
install windows XP!
 
Have you tried more than once to install XP, and if so, does the
installation stop at the same point?.. if it does, you most likely have a
problem with your installation cd.. contact Microsoft.. they will exchange
it for you..
