XP Freeze

Sometimes after the PC sits idle for several hours, but not all
the time, monitor turns off, disks torn off, but hibernate is NOT set,
nothing will awaken the machine except POR.

When it restarts, it does NOT run scandisk!

Running a P4 Asus Mobo, XP Pro SP2.

This started about a week ago. There have been no hardware
or software changes in over a month.

Where do I start looking??

Disks of in 30
No hibernate
No standby
