XP Firewall

Can someone please give me some advice where to look for
this problem.
When I try to turn on XP Firewall, I get the following
message:
An error occurred while Internet connection sharing was
being enabled.
The dependency service or group failed to start.

Would appreciate any advice on where to go from here.

Greetings --

Right-click My Computer > Manage > Services and Applications >
Services. In the right-hand pane, scroll down to right-click on the
Internet Connection Firewall and select Properties. Click the
Dependencies Tab. Make sure that all of the listed system
components/services are shown as started in the Services list.

Normally, you will need to have the Application Layer Gateway
Service, the Network Connections, the Network Location Awareness, and
the Remote Access Connection Manager started. If one or more of these
isn't already started, start it and set it to start automatically.
