XP file access

Hi there,
Is there anything I can do on an XP Pro sp2 machine to speed up
access/transfer files to remote server shares? Users complain access is
slow.
Thanks a lot, Calin

One thing I have found is that to speed up XP professional (I guess this
applies to home as well) in every which way you care to describe is to have
main bootable partition to just 20GB. The rest can be more for data and
other rubbish.

I use old PIII system and you ill be surprised how fast this is compared to
my friends using top of the range systems!

There are probably lots of things you can do, but you didn't tell us
anything about your network structure, hardware, how you are connecting
to the remote share, or what operating system the remote server is
using, if you are using AD, what kind and size files are being
transferred, etc.

Post back with the missing details and I'm sure you will get help.
