Hi there,
Is there a way to see or enable DMA access on the hard drives? Thanks a lot,
Calin

Yes. In Device Manager look at the "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" node .. root
around for the particular and enable DMA. It may require a reboot to come
into effect. Or, for $11,000.00 [pre-paid cash/certified cheque/money order]
I will do it for you. But you must pay also my airfare [1st class on a U.S.
airline], lodgings [hotel/restaurants are my choice], and any and all
applicable taxers tolls levies etc.

Via device manager.
IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers

Primary IDE channel, advanced settings tab (hard drive)
Secondary IDE channel, advance tab (optical drives CD/DVD)

Hi Mike,
OK, but how about installing Microsoft or motherboard manufacturer
driver if advanced tab is not there? Does Microsoft have one? Thanks a lot,
Calin

I make my living as a licenced A&P mechanic for a U.S. Airline, believe me
all of the corporate greed that has raped mechanics pay and benefits (all
Airlines) since 9-11 you don't want to fly on any of them.
I haven't flown anywhere in over 3 years and as an employee I fly for free.

I really thought that is was a real kick in the pants when the then CEO
cancelled my retirement and turned it over to the PP&G the same week he and
his stooges deposited millions of $$$ cash into their own accounts. And the
bankruptcy judge said "way to go, can I have some?"

To cut this short, very few mechanics really have their minds on the job
anymore, Thank God computers actually fly the plane because the pilots are
in the same boat!

Click on the + next to the controller to expand the listing, then right
click on the Pri/Sec channel and select properties, you should now see the
advance tab.
Good Luck

Thank you. I needed that help. I was using udma mode with my Lite-On DVDRW
and it was working great. Then suddenly it switched to PIO and I wasn't able
to switch it back. It was taking almost an hour to burn a disk instead of
the 7 minutes it should be.
