XP error

I recently upgraded from 98 to XP home ed. Everything was
working fine and now when I turn on my computer I get a
black screen that says "DISK READ ERROR" and DMI Pool
data. It then tells me to ctrl+alt+del to restart, I do
and it loops back to this problem. What is going on?
Thank you

This error isn't coming from XP. (You're looking at a black-and-white
screen, right?) This error is coming from your system's BIOS - it looks like
you hard a hardware problem (or perhaps a cable isn't connected properly).
Contact your system manufacturer for help.
