XP English

I live in Switzerland and can only buy the PC of my choice with XP in German,
French or Italian. Can I get an add on to include English, or do I have to
buy an English edition of XP?

You need to buy Windows XP in English if that is the language you want.
You can not change another language to English.

You cannot upgrade or convert from one language version of the OS
to another, so you'll have to purchase and use the full version of
WinXP (in whatever language you want) to perform a clean installation.
