xp embedded database sp1 can't update to xp embedded database sp2

i have already installed xp embedded database sp1 and i want to update to xp
embedded database sp2 but when i try to update there is a error message show
up say:
can not connect to the database pleasse check the database . Does any
expert can direct me what should i do ?

Sounds like hte database engine is turned off. You need to either reboot the
machine or just restart the database engine in the SQL Server Service
Manager.
