i have just purchased a firewire PCI card, the makers tell me that windows xp should have the required drivers already, when i try and install the new hardware it is unable to find the drivers. (No drivers came with the card) is there anywhere that i can get the drivers from?

Which specific Vendor & Model # is it ? Have you done a
"Google" for the card. Many times issues with specific cards
are documented and fixes/processes are posted in Forums
like this one, usually on the Vendor's web support site.

yeah i have been contacting the manufacturer on their website but they dont think they have drivers available as windows XP normally does an auto install. Not sure what to do next, does anyone know of a site where all of the Drivers that come with Windows XP are available?

Contact the technical support line for your PCI card's vendor, and get
them to help you solve your problem (you may be able to find drivers, or
a fix for your problem, at the vendor's web site).

Comment: I installed the Firewire (IEE1394) controller from Adaptec and had
no problem.

If you install an "off brand" (didn't pay MS to put their PNP info in the
INF file) or the card's PNP is not up to standard, you may have trouble.
