XP Dialer.exe

When I run Dialer.exe, it opens fine...but in the right column it says, "The
selected server is not responding...". I'm not sure what server it is
refering to. I would like to just use dialer for making a phone call. When
I use Windows 98se, I can use the dialer to enter the phone number and then
pick up the phone that is attached to the modem to continue the call. Is
this not possible in XP? Under 98 I had an option in Works database to
dial a number that was listed there. This option is not there when I use
Works under XP.

Ignore it. It just means there are no people or conferences listed to
connect to. Click on the Speed Dial option, right click it and select
New Speed Dial.. and enter name and Phone number to dial.
