XP crahes when playing online music or video

Hi , my laptop is HP pavilion with AMD Turion. i has gone through
frequent crashes mainly when i play online music or video. first it
becomes slow, sound breaks and during next boot up it never comes up.
even with the recovery hard disk it doesnt come up... i had to use the
back up dvds which i had created previously to make it working... what
could be the problem... please suggest...
 
could be no room or defragmented harddrive
where the downloads are stored for playing.

could be that something is also utilizing the internet
at the same time your streaming your music.

go into msconfig and temporarily disable
your startups then reboot and try again.
this will free up resources for your cpu and
ram....
